Fiction - Fragment


Morning_Tea_by_aksicnnI darted to my front door and fumbled with the ring of keys; it took three tries to open the lock. The door swung open into the kitchen with a loud clatter. I busied myself setting a kettle to boil then rummaged through my selections of tea, finally settling on Earl Grey: two sugars, no cream. I was soon seated in front of my computer, my tea steeping on the desk. My fingers danced over the keyboard in time with my heart-beat. It started out simple: Dear Ryan, somewhere along the middle blurted out: I love you! and signed: Anonymous.

I hit send, then sat back to enjoy my tea.
