Day 22: What was your lowest weight? How and why did you gain?
My lowest weight, once I reached this height and adult age, was 120 lbs (which is extremely underweight). I didn’t obtain that weight on purpose, rather I was exercising excessively out of the enjoyment of being outdoors when I first moved to this city. I liked to walk under the cherry blossoms in the spring and ended up losing 30 lbs in a month.
I’ve slowly regained the weight since, having a lot of people pressuring me to do so. I think that peer pressure was probably the worst thing people could have done, trying to shame me for being ‘too skinny’. I don’t think they had a right to do so, and it was just as psychologically damaging as if they had been fat shaming me; no one should have to feel ashamed of their bodies.
