ASPIRING INDIE AUTHOR

FEYA ROSE

I’m a lover of herbal teas, a caregiver of furbabies, and a firm believer in the Oxford comma.

I grew up from a daydreaming child into a wanderlust-filled adult who imagines visiting faraway lands, pursuing magical adventures, and meeting a handsome fated loved.

Much of my work is inspired by my strong attachment to nature, myths, witchcraft, and fairy tales. Mixed with my own fanciful imagination and the occasional magical dream, I use these interests to fuel my passion for literature.

A NEVER ENDING DREAM

I first decided that I wanted to be an author at age seven. I recall the very conversation when I asked my parents where I could study the writing craft for high school and university, deciding then and there my entire schooling goals. Once I became an adult, I began studying creative writing at the University of Victoria just as seven-year-old me had planned.

Due to the difficulties of my health, I was forced to take an indefinite medical leave from university. This greatly impacted my mental health, and I spent the next decade in constant health battles.

But I never gave up on learning more about the craft. After watching hundreds of writing course videos online, reading dozens of writing craft books, and listening to a ton of webinars and even speaking to indie authors on occasion, I’m taking the steps I need to pursue my literary goals - with strong support from the women writers of the Quill & Cup community behind me.

At present, I am drafting my debut novel/series, tactfully dubbed “Project: Masked” until I’m ready to publicly reveal the titles, while outlining smaller standalone projects on the side. I’m aiming for my first publication to be between mid to late 2024.

GENUINE

I am unapologetically real about myself and the world, always honest to everyone, and upfront to a fault about everything.

SUPPORTIVE

As a certified Peer Counsellor, I have always strived to provide a supportive and nurturing environment to those around me.

SPIRITUAL

While I do not actively practice any belief system’s rituals, I fully believe there is magic in everyone and that we can all harness it.
